I teach the Class "How to Start a Green Business" at area colleges and other venues.
Students who take this class will learn how to do the following:
- Describe a green business
- Identify the essential elements of a green business
- Distinguish between a green business and a business that is greenwashing
- List the major green certifications and describe them
- Identify some of the green businesses in NYC and explain why they are green
Anyone can make their business greener. There is no single blueprint or model of how to make a business green. The key is to do everything you can to be more environmentally responsible and to realize that there are many different ways to be green.
Students will take home a list of resources they can't get anywhere else. Do you know what Workshop In Business Opportunities is? Have you heard about the Sustainable Business Network of NYC? You will learn about these organizations and so much more!
This class is being offered on Tuesday, December 1 from 7:15 - 9:15 pm and Tuesday, December 8 for the same time period for a total of 4 hours at Lehman College in the Bronx. To register, go to www.lehman.cuny.edu/cers/cers.htm
